Is someone 18 yet? (Thai legal age check)
Today, anyone born born in 2008 or earlier (after the birthday) is 18 or older. Pick a birth date to check precisely — the month and day matter, not just the year.

Thai adulthood is 20, not 18
Under the Thai Civil and Commercial Code a person becomes a legal adult (sui juris) at 20 full years, or on lawful marriage. Eighteen is the age for voting and a car driving licence; alcohol and tobacco can only be sold to people aged 20 or over.
When the birth day or month is unknown
Section 16 of the Civil and Commercial Code counts age from the day of birth. If only the month is known, the 1st of that month is used; if neither month nor day is known, age counts from January 1 of the birth year. Choose “Day unknown” or “Month unknown” above.
